From delicious grilled sardines to a wide range of music and entertainment, there's fun for all the family!

Portimão is celebrating its main gastronomic icon once again. Throughout the riverside area, between the museum and the old fish market, the atmosphere will be festive and, as tradition dictates, there will be the aroma of the traditional sardinhada, which promises to whet the appetite of all visitors.

Voted Europe's best summer gastronomic event in 2022, the Sardine Festival takes place from 30 July to 4 August 2024. On 30 July, starting at 10.30am, there will be a historical re-enactment of the unloading of sardines in the city's riverside area (Cais Gil Eanes).
