In accordance with the Regulation published on 13/03/2024 in Diário da República, we hereby inform you that the Portimão Accommodation Tax came into force on March 14, 2024, making it mandatory for tourist establishments to charge their guests the Accommodation Tax.

The Portimão Accommodation Tax applies to all overnight stays made from March 14th, meaning reservations made before this date are not taken into account.
It is therefore clarified that reservations already received before March 14th for stay dates after this day, should not be taken into account for the purposes of applying this tax.

Regarding the amount of the tax, it is charged per person/night in all tourist resorts and local accommodation establishments, up to a maximum of 7 consecutive nights per person/stay.
The tax applies to guests aged 13 or over, and is applied throughout the year according to the stipulated values:

• €1 per night per person up to a maximum value of 7 consecutive nights/person, between November 1st and March 31st - low season.
• €2 per night per person up to a maximum value of 7 consecutive nights/person, between April 1st and October 31st - high season.

This tax will be charged upon arrival at check-in after verifying the total number of guests and their ages.
